One of the things that seems to come up time and time again is what computer desks should gamers use. Now I mentioned this in one of my posts and usually say Atlantic is the place to go. Atlantic does make some awesome freakin products for gamers. They have stands, desks, racks, all that furniture stuff you don’t really think about often. But when you have it, it’s actually pretty nice to have. You think to yourself, why didn’t I get this sooner? Of course most of us just spend our money on games which is obviously the best thing you can do as a gamer. For pc gamers, components are a big one too. Graphics cards help you run the latest games at the highest settings so of course that comes first. While my specialty is mice, I’ve actually done a bit of research lately on this desks because I am trying to find one for my office area. It’s been a long journey, but not too bad because it has taken place all online. So now I’m a bit of an expert on the subject now. Anyway, you can go to walmart and buy yourself a desk for $50 or you can listen to what I have to say I don’t care. I wanted something a little more and I’ll tell you what I got.
First, if you are looking for a straight up gaming desk you only have two options. At least there were only two options that I found and I went to probably 50+ websites. The first one is the Atlantic gaming desk which I mentioned above. You may have heard of the second guy, they make some cool “racing” chairs for gamers and eSports types. The second one is the DX Racer gaming desk. The Atlantic isn’t priced too bad at $100 on Amazon I think and like $150 on Atlantic’s site. But that’s where DX Racer scared me off. Their desk is $399. Sure it looks really cool. Here’s a picture of it here: The desk top is sloped so you’re arms and wrists stay in an ergonomic position which is a thoughtful design. The triangle legs are also nice and sturdy. Also you get cable grommets to manage all the cords. It’s made with wood and steel and it also features a raised perimeter around the desk top so things don’t fall off easily. Ok, so it’s a nice desk and I probably would have bought it if I have that sort of money. But my max price limit as $200 and the DX Racer is twice that.
What desk did I finally settle on for a decent price? The Walker Edison black edition. They also have a white edition if you’re into that, or if you’re a girl gamer or something. It’s an L shaped desk and worth every penny. It looks awesome. And I am glad I made the purchase. It was half of my budget at $100. If I can’t sell you on it, maybe Amazon can. There’s like 2000 reviews for this desk and it has 4 1/2 stars average, so obviously a lot of people are happy with it. One of the main sites I stumbled on when I was shopping for a desk for my gaming room was High Ground Gaming and their best gaming desks page here. They have all the options you can find on Amazon and it was a helpful overview and table of desks. Then they picked what they thought was the top 11 of this year.
Anyway, do your research and make sure you have enough space for it before you buy it. That means measuring and whatnot. But if you’re somewhat deliberate about your purchase, you will be happy you were. Having a nice gaming set up is well worth the time and energy of setting it up. I know if you’re like me you spend a lot of time at the desk.
